About the Sabha
Raaga Sudha Sabha is a cultural arts organization dedicated to the preservation and global promotion of Indian classical music. We aim to make this art form accessible to all enthusiasts (rasikas) and provide a robust platform for the younger generation to learn, perform, and engage with the community for cultural enrichment.
The Sabha is the concert and preservation arm of a wider family dedicated to Indian classical music. Our sister organization, Raaga Sudha School of Music, has been teaching Carnatic vocal music since 2007. Where the School cultivates the next generation of musicians, the Sabha creates the stage on which both established masters and emerging voices can perform — and the archive in which their work can endure.
We uphold the art form’s high standards by organizing concerts and workshops featuring world-class professional artists from across the Indian Classical tradition. We are equally committed to opening the music to new listeners — through accessible programming, an open archive, and a serious commitment to ecological responsibility.
History
Raaga Sudha Sabha was founded as a sister initiative of Raaga Sudha School of Music, extending two decades of teaching tradition into a public platform for performance, preservation and community.
Where the School answers the question “how do we teach this music?”, the Sabha answers “how do we hold space for this music in the world?” — through concerts, archives, mentorship and a serious commitment to the ecological cost of the work.
